The chamber is a non-profit public organization with over 150, 000 members to support and protect the interests of business industry and community in Dubai. The organization creates a favorable environment for supporting and promoting the development of business to promote Dubai as an international hub. This is the major mission of the organization. There are 27 business groups and 43 business councils created and divided under the Dubai Chamber. International offices of the Dubai Chamber are present in Accra (Ghana), Baku (Azerbaijan) and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). Other offices of the Chamber in Dubai are present in JAFZA (Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority), DAFZA (Dubai Airport Free Zone) and in the Land Transport Customs Building in AL Aweer.
In 2005, the Mohammed Bin Rashid AL Maktoum Business Award was introduced by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This award is a recognition for firms in their contribution for the economic development of U.A.E. Similarly, this award represents the highest excellence and recognition in the U.A.E for organizations in their business achievements.
