Job Description:
To carry out professional duties of an Assistant Head Teacher focusing upon raising standards of learning and teaching across the school by driving standards all areas
Lead the Foundation Stage 1 and 2 teams
Leading learning within the Early Years team and across the school
Strategic management of the FS team
Developing and enhancing parental links
Supporting and upholding the policies and practices of the school and GEMS Education

Learning and teaching:
To ensure alignment with the IB pedagogy and UK curriculum
Provide inspiration and motivation to colleagues through the sharing of best practice across the team
To hold accountability, monitor and improve the quality of learning and teaching across a Foundation Stage for each individual pupil
To review planning and teaching methods in order to meet individual needs, including SEND, MAGT and children with English who are ELL
To exemplify outstanding practice in the classroom and provide demonstration lessons for staff/Parents/external parties as appropriate
To ensure that all assessments are administered, analysed and recorded in line with school policy, reporting any concerns to the Leadership Team immediatel
Provide copies of the assessment data and evaluations to the Leadership Team
To amend teaching strategies in light of assessments and evaluations
To set targets for classes and the whole year group in light of prior attainment
To carry out work scrutiny to ensure high standards and continuity across the Foundation Stage
To audit, organise, order and allocate resources across the school pertinent to the Team’s Action Plan
To liaise with other Year Leaders and AHT to ensure progression and continuity across the school
To ensure that all curriculum policies, POI, Scope and Sequence and schemes of work and general school policies are adhered to by members of the team
To support staff in relation to curriculum planning and assessment, and good classroom management and organisation
To lead weekly year group meetings to consult on whole school issues as well as plan, assess and evaluate year group provision
To monitor and support the work of team members through classroom visits, work scrutiny, interviews, professional dialogue and reviews of plans and records
To liaise regularly with the Inclusion department and hold frequent student review meetings to ensure that the needs of all SEND children are provided for.
