About the job Duration: 01 October 2025 – 01 October 2026 Type: Part-time (approx. 20 hours/week) About the Role Oryx University Research Office invites applications for an Undergraduate Research Assistant position within the Civil Engineering Program. The selected candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research under the funded project by QRDI focusing on geotechnical materials and innovative testing approaches. This role is designed for motivated undergraduate students seeking hands-on research experience in a professional academic setting. Key Responsibilities · Perform laboratory-based experimental tests related to geotechnical materials. · Assist in the collection, analysis, and reporting of test results. · Conduct literature reviews to support experimental and analytical aspects of the research. · Participate in the modification of testing procedures as needed. · Investigate and propose alternative materials or testing methods relevant to project goals. · Carry out additional research-related tasks as assigned. Requirements Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply). · Oryx University graduates will be given priority. · Strong interest in geotechnical engineering and laboratory-based research. · Basic knowledge of soil mechanics and material testing methods is desirable. · Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and contribute to a research team. · Good communication and analytical skills.
