About The Role: You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of stage performances and events. Primary tasks will include operating & programming the automation control system, rigging and operational duties. You will work within a dynamic team, responsible for managing and operating various technical aspects of live shows, concerts, theater productions, and events hosted. Operation of all staging control systems, automation, and motorized systems. Rigging truss, equipment, scenery, and structures on motorized systems. Willingness to undertake work associated with other job roles in the state department, including stagehand, technician, props and management duties as required. Maintain the highest standards of quality, efficiency and safe working as advised by the Technical Management. Be willing to follow relevant trainings in the field, including but not restricted to IOSH, LOLER, COSHH, manual handling, working at height, safe use of access equipment. Be aware of local legislation in the abovementioned fields. Be able to create and interpret ground/ rig plans and stage running ‘plots and que sheets across a wide variety of formats. Be competent but not restricted to Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and be able to be trained to operate any new or specific programs that may become available in the future. Hanging, Rigging and setting of all scenic elements, soft goods, properties. Work with other departments as required. Ensure that all work carried out is in compliance with H&S guidelines and standards. Technical Skills: Knowledgeable and understanding of automation programming and operation. Operation of automated flying systems – BBH preferred. Extensive IT skills, AutoCAD and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, or similar software The drive and expertise to maintain up to date knowledge of developments in technical staging, rigging and any new staging innovations, Rigging up to international standards. Knowledge of Stagecraft Safety and Regulations Competencies: Communication & interpersonal skills Collaboration and Team Player Profound knowledge of written and spoken English Stakeholder management Adaptability and Innovation QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Technical Theater, Stage Production, or a related field is preferred. Certifications in relevant technical areas (e.g., automation control systems) would be advantageous. 5+ years proven and relevant experience ideally with 2-3 years' experience in an automation role. Previous experience in a similar role within the entertainment industry or theater productions is highly preferred. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think quickly and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently, especially during live performances. Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings (overnight), weekends, and holidays, as dictated by the event schedule. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate execution of cues and technical requirements for each production. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changes and work well under pressure in a fast-paced, live event environment.
