Key Result Areas: Assist the Head of Press Office and Media Relations in preparing a proactive media engagement plan, towards establishing and maintaining cordial relationships with media contacts, agencies and networks in target markets Assist in organizing press conferences within agreed timelines and budget; take ownership for preparation of press kit and coordination for other arrangements; document, upload on news center and archive for future reference Prepare and maintain a comprehensive database of validated and categorized media contacts Participate in the planning and execution of projects assigned by Press Office Unit Head or Department Manager Take ownership of development and production of media monitoring reports Maintain a comprehensive record of external media requests and a filming/photography external request log Maintain QF Press Release archive, and forward periodically to Documentary for official archiving Ensure media interviews are accompanied by an Interview Brief and all mini-campaigns are accompanied by a Media Plan; draft relevant plans as needed Ensure that all Press Office services to the QF centers are delivered within the agreed service levels and shared with the Services Specialist prior to agreed deadline Assist in utilizing the media monitoring service and provide regular reports that serve the press office purpose Cooperate with Business Excellence Unit for process audits Drive media relations initiatives, ensuring the press are kept updated on QF and program-related activities, efforts and initiatives Develop and implement a media relations policy to provide specific guidance to QF departments and leaders about who can engage the media and how; coordinate all media monitoring and recording Drive the development and consistent update of press materials and external communications products including general web site content, QF press releases, executive biographies, backgrounders, presentations and other corporate literature explaining and illustrating QF initiatives and progress Draft and support distribution of press releases Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications/Marketing with 6-8 years of relevant work experience; expertise in feature and copywriting, preferably in a media-related setting, as well as knowledge of branding and advertising strongly preferred Very good planning and time management skills Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is an advantage Proficiency in MS Office applications
