Piping Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee EPIC (Engineering, Procurement, Installation, Commissioning) activities for GRP/GRE/GRVE piping systems
• Review technical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications to ensure compliance with project standards
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and client representatives on material delivery, installation progress, and quality control
• Conduct site inspections, hydrotesting, and pre-commissioning activities for piping systems
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation: ITPs, inspection reports, as-built drawings, and progress updates
• Ensure all works comply with HSE standards, Qatar Energy regulations, and project-specific safety requirements
• Provide technical guidance to site teams and subcontractors on installation methods, jointing procedures, and repair techniques
• Liaise with procurement and engineering teams to resolve technical queries and material substitutions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in GRP/GRE piping within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Infrastructure projects
• Proven experience working on Qatar-based projects (Qatar Energy, Qatar Gas, ASHGHAL, EPC contractors)
• Strong knowledge of international standards: API, ASME, ISO, NACE, and client-specific specifications
• Familiarity with EPIC project execution, material submittals, and commissioning procedures
• Valid Qatar driving license and ability to work in industrial sites (Ras Laffan, Mesaieed, Dukhan)
• Excellent command of English (written & verbal); Arabic is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with North Field Expansion (NFE/NFXP), LNG, or CO₂ WAG projects
• Certifications: H2S Awareness, Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, HUET (Qatar Energy-approved training preferred)
• Knowledge of SCADA/DCS systems and pipeline integrity management
• Membership in professional bodies (e.g., PSME, IMechE)
