Position: Physics Expert (Master’s/PhD)

Type: Contract / Freelance

Compensation: Competitive (hourly)

Role Responsibilities

  • Design and solve challenging Physics problems to evaluate and improve large language model reasoning capabilities.
  • Develop clear, high-quality, step-by-step Physics solutions with precise logical reasoning and explanations.
  • Analyze AI-generated responses to identify reasoning gaps, inaccuracies, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with AI researchers to align Physics problems with evaluation goals, especially in abstraction, symbolic manipulation, and multi-step reasoning.
  • Create and curate high-quality Physics training and evaluation datasets spanning undergraduate to PhD-level topics.
  • Translate complex Physics concepts into simple, structured explanations suitable for AI model learning.
  • Provide detailed annotations and constructive feedback to refine model outputs and training processes.
  • Contribute to the development of new Physics-based evaluation benchmarks and assessment frameworks.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying weaknesses in AI understanding and proposing targeted problem sets.

 

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely related field (or currently pursuing).
  • Strong foundation in core Physics subjects such as Classical Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Quantum Mechanics, and Thermodynamics.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured, logical approach.
  • Ability to clearly explain complex Physics concepts using simple language and step-by-step reasoning.
  • Strong written communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a remote, research-driven environment.
  • Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams using digital communication tools.
  • Experience evaluating, annotating, or reviewing technical content preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI systems, large language models, or data-driven research preferred.
  • Strong curiosity, creativity, and willingness to learn in an AI-first work environment.
