KEY ROLE & ACCOUNTABILITIES: Provides excellent patient clinical care, as informed by current standards of recognized leading western medical organizations. Provides anesthetic care including general anesthesia, all forms of neuraxial regional anesthesia, peripheral nerve blockade, intravenous and inhalational analgesia, monitored anesthesia care and emergency airway management conforming to the best current practices as defined by major western (EU and/or North American) anesthesiology organizations. Provides pre-anesthetic and post-anesthetic consultative care, follow-up, and appropriate referrals. Performs pre-anesthetic informed consent discussions with patients and families and provides documentation thereof. Covers emergency and on-call duties as determined by the Division Chief and or his/her designee. Participates in clinical care at offsite locations such as the Hamad General Hospital as required Works collaboratively with Weill Cornell Medical College – Qatar to provide teaching support for instruction regarding the basic science and clinical curriculum by the members of the division for the undergraduate medical students and surgical residents as required for an ACGME curriculum Works in a in a congenial, supportive, collaborative and equitable environment. Works collaboratively with other physicians, nurses, other health care providers and all other division staff to ensure that cohesive, cross functional teams are maintained. Promotes mentorship and academic career development for junior team members. Participates in clinical research projects Provides accurate and timely quality and safety data on each patient care encounter. Actively participates in graduate medical education and in education for nursing, technical staff, and other physicians as necessary Communicates effectively, consistently, and in a timely manner with colleagues and other staff members Keeps excellent and complete electronic medical records. Mentors others in the optimal utilization of electronic records. Participates actively and is a leader in in departmental meetings, retreats, journal clubs, simulation activities, and other agendas Performs departmental duties as requested by the Division leadership. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Education: Medical Degree Completion of residency program in Anesthesiolgy (or equivalent) Subspecialty training and/or equivalent experience in Pediatric Anesthesiology Experience: 2 + years of post-certification/residency clinical experience in Pediatric Anesthesiology
