Position: Laundry Technician

 

Location: Shipboard (worldwide travel)

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Equipment Maintenance & Repair:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all laundry machinery, including Jensen and Milnor tunnel washers, washer/extractors, and Chicago and Jensen ironers.
• Follow manufacturer guidelines and training for safety and optimal performance.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
• Respond swiftly to operational issues and coordinate repairs with vendors or external technicians as needed.

 

Operational Support:

• Assist in delivering top standards of sanitation, quality, and efficiency in laundry services.
• Support daily laundry operations and troubleshooting to ensure seamless service delivery.

 

Safety & Compliance:

• Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including proper PPE use.
• Report hazards or malfunctions immediately to supervisors.
• Follow USPH and environmental health standards to ensure compliance with sanitation and safety policies.

 

Training & Development:

• Stay updated on manufacturer training and best practices for laundry equipment.
• Support training of team members on proper operation and maintenance procedures.

 

Work Experience & Skills:

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience repairing and maintaining commercial laundry systems.
• Proven expertise with Jensen and Milnor tunnel washers, Jensen and Milnor washer/extractors, and Chicago/Jensen ironers.
• Prior experience working on cruise ships or in upscale hotels/restaurants is essential.
• Manufacturer training in these systems is preferred.
