Job Purpose:

Support offshore drilling and completion operations by supervising drilling fluids and cementing activities while ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution. The role is responsible for maintaining high HSE standards, optimizing fluid and cement performance, managing contractor activities, and ensuring operational readiness throughout the drilling campaign.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise drilling fluids and cementing operations at the rig site to ensure safe and efficient execution.
  • Optimize drilling fluid and cement programs while minimizing non-productive time (NPT) and operational costs.
  • Monitor chemical inventory, equipment, and logistics to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Review, validate, and analyze drilling fluids and cementing data and operational reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, industry standards, and operational procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify potential operational issues, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Monitor contractor performance and promote strong safety culture and operational excellence.
  • Lead safety meetings, support HSE initiatives, and participate in audits, inspections, and incident prevention programs.
  • Collaborate closely with offshore drilling teams, mud engineers, and service providers to achieve drilling objectives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in drilling fluids, cementing, or drilling operations within the oil & gas industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of drilling fluids, cementing operations, and wellsite chemistry.
  • Experience working on offshore drilling or workover operations.
  • Good understanding of HSE management systems and industry best practices.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work in multicultural teams.
  • Fluent in English; French language skills are an advantage.
