Electrician Technician

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, control panels, lighting, and fixtures.

• Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing equipment and tools.

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, circuit diagrams, and layouts.

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.

• Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.

• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

• Test continuity of circuits using testing devices such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, or insulation resistance testers.

• Identify electrical hazards and take corrective action.

• Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work performed.

• Support shutdown or project activities as required.

Requirements

• Education & Certifications:
  
• ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Trade test certification or local license (if applicable).
• Electrical safety certification (preferred).
• Experience:
  
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an Electrician Technician in industrial, commercial, or construction settings.
• Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or infrastructure projects is a plus.
• Skills & Competencies:
  
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and wiring practices.
• Ability to use electrical tools, meters, and testing equipment.
• Familiarity with cable glanding, termination, conduit installation, and panel wiring.
• Understanding of safety protocols and PPE requirements in electrical work.
• Ability to work from heights, in confined spaces, and under varying environmental conditions.

Desired Skills and Experience

Physical Fitness:

Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials; work in confined or elevated spaces.

Experience:

Previous experience in insulation work is an advantage but not always required for helper roles.

Knowledge:

Basic understanding of insulation materials, tools, and techniques (training is usually provided for helpers).

Team Player:

Willingness to work under supervision and assist skilled workers.

Work Conditions:

Comfortable working in cold environments, outdoors, or at heights.

Communication:

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; basic understanding of workplace safety signs and labels.
