Position: Assistant Carpenter Location: Shipboard (worldwide travel) Key Responsibilities: Maintenance & Repair: Perform general repairs on woodwork, wall paneling, doors, locks, and fixtures throughout the vessel. Assist with wallpapering, carpeting, and interior finishing tasks as directed. Safety & Organization: Follow safety protocols, use PPE appropriately, and keep work areas clean and organized. Seal off work zones from passengers when necessary. Team Support & Reporting: Report progress and issues to the Carpenter Supervisor. Assist with planning, scheduling, and documenting carpentry activities. Tools & Inventory: Maintain tools and materials related to carpentry tasks. Document maintenance and work performed. Additional Duties: Participate in safety drills, meetings, and training sessions. Support other areas of the carpentry team as needed. Qualifications & Training: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in carpentry or related crafts. Elementary to middle school education (8th grade) or equivalent. Relevant carpentry, finishing, or safety training certifications preferred. Language & Physical Requirements: Ability to speak clear, polite English to communicate effectively with guests and crew.
