Key Result Responsibilities: Manages the identification, assessment, reporting and monitoring of the rectification of various types of technical defects on the Air Arabia fleet including MDDs, ADDs, CDDs and repetitive defects, ensuring all aircrafts are maintained within agreed technical standards. Acts as a back-up for the Engineering Planning and Development, STP and QA teams in monitoring fleet maintenance operations for long-term/short-term action plans. Utilizes available resources such as data, systems, software, log-books and manuals to ensure aircrafts are “timely and safely maintained and released” to service. Provides continuous and prompt maintenance technical support and guidance to Maintenance Teams, ensuring service is in conformity and executed within approved timeframes and as per Civil Aviation regulations, Air Arabia approved policies and quality standards, and Manufacturer’s Manuals. Monitors the daily flight operations and technical performance, records data and incidents to ensure timely and effective communication of any necessary information related to defects affecting the operational performance. Partners with Stakeholders in UAE, Hubs and Outstations to identify/rectify any issues or repetitive defects affecting the operational performance; reviews activities, provides reports on trends of technical performance, and recommends improvements to ensure no re-occurrence. Ensures work packages of all tasks are created, allocated, well communicated to respective teams, accurately recorded and documented whilst following up on timeliness and efficiency in the tasks executed. Manages Ad-hoc and emergency cases across the entire network to find out solutions utilizing available resources in the respective area; holds sessions to communicate incidents and share experiences with MCC Engineers, Technical Instructors, and maintenance staff; provides coaching and mentoring to supervisors and staff as needed. Proactively collaborates with MCC engineers to eliminate defects that affect the airworthiness of the fleet and delays operations; recommends preventive solutions and corrective measures as needed. Generates, and guides Pilots and Cabin Crew on formalities adopted to generate and record function-related reports; manages the Internal/External audit practices within the MCC to ensure abidance by guidelines and regulations. Partners with Manager Training & Standards to plan and coordinate the MCC Team’s needed technical training and career development ensuring their compliance with training and licensing regulatory requirements. Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages): Bachelor degree in Aircraft Engineering/Aeronautical/Electro Mechanical or equivalent; alternately a diploma or certificate in the related field from a recognized university or engineering college combined with needed experience and exposure. Holds/has held the corresponding type-rating maintenance releasing license, additional types are a plus. Holder/has held Maintenance Engineer’s member license type II from an ICAO state is an advantage. Professional membership of associations related to the Aviation/Airlines industry is a plus. Project Management certificate or alternately the proven corresponding working experience is a must. Cost Control, Compliance, Budgeting and Quality Assurance certificates and trainings are an added value. Capable of using technology systems & tools; proficient in Microsoft Office. Fluent in English and Arabic Languages. Work Experience: 10+ years’ experience in the Aviation industry, 4 years of which in Maintenance Control Center in a similar capacity, with 2 years at least leading the Department. Has direct working experience with Civil Aviation Authorities, preferably GCAA; familiar with all rules and regulations of GCAA pertaining to the Engineering Maintenance, policies, procedures, manuals and licensing. Experienced in leading and developing a team of professionals (Engineers and Technicians) in a frequently changing environment with heavy work-load schedules and ad-hoc scenarios. Very good knowledge and exposure on airline and Flight Operations, SGHA contracting formalities and standard regulations; good understanding of Flight crew thought process. Exposure to Commercial/Quality Assurance /Safety/Internal & External Audit functional operations and practices. Experienced in designing, implementing, and monitoring the team’s performance against maintenance policies, procedures and operating manuals as per business needs and in line with adopted regulations and approved quality standards. Has worked on executing contracts and service level agreements of extreme technical nature. Ability to produce, interpret, assimilate data and express ideas and concepts clearly. Cost-oriented, possesses effective problem solving and decision making skills.
